Serving the Ad Tag with DFP (DoubleClick for Publishers)

Configure the appropriate Line Item and targeting in DFPwith the following paramenters.

Creative type: Select “Custom”

Code Snippet: Add the following

<a href="%%CLICK_URL_UNESC%%" target="_blank" class="xly-creative">
    <img width="%%WIDTH%%" height="%%HEIGHT%%" border="0">
</a>
<script type="text/javascript">
    var xlyMerchant = 'YOUR_UNIQUE_ID'
    document.write('<scr' + 'ipt type="text/javascript" src="https://assets01.buyexpressly.com/adserving/adserver.js"><\/scr' + 'ipt>');
</script>

Make sure to UNCHECK the “Serve into a SafeFrame” check box. This allows access to the meta tags added to the page.

Other adservers are also supported: please contact us for more information.

Serving the Ad Tag natively

Configure the page as follows.

Header: add the following meta-tag and replace the content with your merchant UUID (provided by Expressly).

<meta property="xly:merchant" content="YOUR_UNIQUE_ID" />

Body: Place the creative tag where it is expected to render. Replace the WIDTH and HEIGHT with size of the creative you would like to display.

You may also change the mark-up as long as the anchor has the “xly-creative” class, there is only one <img> element within it, and the <img> tag has the appropriate height and width attributes.

<a target="_blank" class="xly-creative">
    <img width="WIDTH" height="HEIGHT" border="0">
</a>

Include our adserving JavaScript file just before the closing body tag.

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://assets01.buyexpressly.com/adserving/adserver.js"></script>

Including Authenticated User Meta Tags

For authenticated users, add the following meta tags to the page head. They include the user’s characteristics as content attributes:

<meta property="xly:cemail" content="john.doe@example.com" />
<meta property="xly:cname" content="John Doe" />
<meta property="xly:caddress1" content="46, Berwick St" />
<meta property="xly:caddress2" content="2nd floor" />
<meta property="xly:ccity" content="London" />
<meta property="xly:cprovince" content="LDN" />
<meta property="xly:czip" content="W1F 8SG" />
<meta property="xly:ccountry" content="GBR" />
<meta property="xly:cphone" content="02070000000" />
<meta property="xly:cgender" content="M" />
<meta property="xly:cdob" content="1987-08-07" />

Gender should be one of M (male), F (female) or O (other) otherwise it may be excluded or left blank.

Country should be the ISO3 code for the country.

The inclusion of these tags enables the Expressly ad post-click behaviour for the current user.

See how it looks on our test page.
